Author of Aberystwyth Mon Amour
Malcolm Pryce was born in Shrewsbury and moved at the age of nine to Aberystwyth. He read German at the Universities of Warwick and Freiburg. After that he became, among other things, 'the world's worst aluminium salesman, raising the art of not selling aluminium to levels which have seldom been matched since' (Pryce's website). In 1998 he quit a job in advertising and took a year off to write Aberystwyth Mon Amour (2001), the first draft of which was finished on board a cargo ship off the coast of Guyana. The novel was a success and resulted in five more books in the series. He currently lives in Oxford, where he teaches Oxford University's Online 'Writing Fiction' course, which he also conceived and wrote.
